Staff Housing Project Update – Progress and Gratitude

Posted Date: 7/14/25 (1:00 AM)

Dear Soledad Unified School District Community,

We are pleased to share a brief update on our Staff Housing Project—a vision that is  becoming reality thanks to your continued support.

Construction is  underway at the site at the corner of Soledad Street and Monterey Street, where 20 high-quality one- and two-bedroom units are being built to provide affordable housing for our dedicated teachers and school staff. This project represents a significant step toward addressing the statewide educator housing shortage and ensuring we can continue attracting and retaining talented staff here in Soledad.

Current work includes site grading in preparation for construction of the foundation for the building. We acknowledge the opportunity to work with the City of Soledad on the ongoing permitting process for various phases of construction.

This development would not have been possible without the generous support of our community through Bond Measure N, and we are deeply grateful for this support. We also thank you for your patience as we worked through the complexities of planning, approvals, and funding. Your belief in this initiative has helped move it forward, and we are proud to be building not just housing—but a stronger, more stable future for Soledad students.

We will continue to share updates as the project progresses, and we look forward to celebrating its completion together.

With appreciation,
Randy Bangs
Superintendent
