SOLEDAD, CA — Yvonne Gray, an instructional Technology Teacher on Special Assignment in the
Soledad Unified School District, has been selected to join GenerationAI, a national initiative advancing
artificial intelligence (AI) in public education.

Led by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) and the Association for
Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), GenerationAI is a 15-month program equipping
educators with the tools and knowledge to integrate AI responsibly and effectively into classrooms.
Gray was chosen from hundreds of applicants across 38 states to participate in the prestigious cohort.
Funded by a $10 million investment from Google.org, the program is part of a larger $75 million
initiative from Google aimed at providing AI education opportunities to one million Americans and
supporting over 200,000 educators nationwide.

“I hope that by increasing the digital literacy of all community members, Soledad students will gain
access to meaningful digital learning experiences and a clear understanding of the benefits and
appropriate use cases for Generative AI,” said Gray. “As part of this cohort, I look forward to collaborating with fellow educators to develop practical solutions that will prepare our students for an AI-driven future."

The program’s cohort brings together educators from diverse backgrounds, including Title I schools,
rural districts, and underrepresented STEM communities. Participants will collaborate virtually with
education leaders, develop AI-driven solutions to address classroom challenges, conduct research on
AI integration and its impact on education, share best practices with the broader education
community, and work with experts to evaluate how AI can enhance student learning outcomes.

ISTE+ASCD, the world’s largest innovation-focused education nonprofit, serves over a million
educators across all 50 states and more than 100 countries. Formed in 2023 by the merger of ISTE
and ASCD, the organization offers professional learning, certifications, events, and thought leadership
to foster transformative education.
