Dear SUSD Community,
I wanted to provide an update on our school district's Measure E facilities bond measure. Preliminary results indicate that Measure E has been approved by voters in our community. Final results are not expected to be certified this week.
Measure E, if approved, will enable the district to secure uip to $42 million in funding to enhance learning environments, improve safety, and address critical facility needs across our schools.
Specifically, the approval of Measure E will allow Soledad USD to:
Upgrade classroom facilities with modern technology to support science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) programs, providing students with enriched, hands-on learning opportunities.
Expand vocational education spaces for subjects like robotics, coding, woodworking, and engineering, ensuring students gain valuable career skills.
Improve school safety by installing controlled-entry systems, additional security cameras, and new fencing and lighting to create more secure environments for students and staff.
Address essential repairs to aging infrastructure, including plumbing, HVAC systems, and roofing, creating healthier and more efficient spaces for teaching and learning.
Install a new track and playing field in the Soledad High School Stadium.
In addition, Measure E’s approval will qualify us for state matching funds, maximizing the impact of each dollar invested in our schools and allowing us to pursue more significant improvements than we could on our own.
We look forward to keeping our district and community members informed on the final status of Measure E. We thank the residents in the Soledad Unified School District again for your trust and partnership in building a brighter future for our schools and community. We are extremely grateful for your support.
Sincerely,
Randy Bangs
Superintendent
